  I've been golfing around Butler for 35 years. If Lake Auther is a goat path then those are some privileged goats. Lake Arthur is a well maintained public course. The greens are excellent. The course is watered. The course is about as flat as you'll find in western PA, yet the curse is challenging enough to make you think (or at least wish you had when a bunker, tree, or water come into play.). There a very few blind shots. The staff is excellent and the course welcomes families on Friday nights.
  
  I enjoy my time at Lake Arthur whether on the course or tucked into an order of wings and pint of stout after. I would recommend anyone to give it a try. And as with most golf in the area, it is a bargain.
